National Transport & Fleet Manager

At Stratco, we're building a smarter, safer and more customer-focused supply chain. We're seeking an experienced National Transport & Fleet Manager to lead the strategy, governance and performance of our transport and fleet operations across Australia.

 

Based at Gepps Cross and reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping how products move across our national network. You'll drive consistency, performance and continuous improvement across company-owned fleets, carrier partners, 3PL providers and customer delivery operations, ensuring every delivery is safe, efficient and on time.

 

You'll work closely with senior leaders across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales and Operations to enhance customer outcomes, lift service performance, optimise costs and create a best-in-class transport function. Your broader responsibilities will include:

 

  • Developing and executing Stratco's national transport and fleet strategy
  • Leading transport, fleet, carrier and 3PL performance across multiple sites and business units
  • Driving a strong Return Home Safe culture and ensuring compliance with all transport and Chain of Responsibility obligations
  • Optimising fleet utilisation, freight costs, delivery performance and asset lifecycle management
  • Establishing clear national standards, KPI's and governance frameworks
  • Improving route efficiency, freight recovery, capacity planning and service outcomes
  • Providing national performance insights, forecasts, risk reporting and improvement plans to executive leadership
  • Building capability across transport leaders, planners and operational teams nationwide
  • Championing continuous improvement through data and technology

About you

You are a commercially minded transport and logistics leader who thrives on balancing customer experience, operational performance and safety.

 

You'll bring:

  • Significant leadership experience in national or multi-site transport, fleet, logistics or delivery operations
  • Proven success managing mixed fleets, carriers and 3PL networks
  • Strong knowledge of Australian transport compliance, WHS, Chain of Responsibility and fleet governance
  • Demonstrated ability to influence geographically dispersed teams and drive accountability
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, KPI's and improvement initiatives
  • Experience working with ERP systems, transport management platforms and telematic solutions
  • A pragmatic and hands on approach
  • Qualifications in Transport, Logistics Supply Chain, Business or a related field will be highly regarded
