We have an opportunity for a highly organised, experienced Yard Hand/Dispatch Worker to step into this crucial coordinator role. This important position acts as the link between the logistics office and the yard team. Based at our Gepps Cross site, this is a full-time, permanent opportunity working day shift, Monday to Friday (between 7:00am to 3.00pm), with overtime when required. We are looking for someone who thrives on ensuring everything runs smoothly. As a confident communicator, you will naturally excel at overseeing the flow of traffic and directing forklift operators to ensure the most efficient movement of goods. Duties will include: - Communicate real-time updates from the logistics team to forklift drivers and ensuring smooth execution of the loading plan.
- Execute the picking and loading plan by directing forklift operators to pick, stage, and load orders according to the plan provided by the logistics office.
- Working collaboratively in a team environment, completing orders and loading as required.
- Responding to changing delivery priorities by adjusting tasks and reallocating resources when high-priority orders arise.
- Maintain clear communication on the yard floor.
- Provide instructions and updates to the yard team to keep operations aligned with delivery requirements.
- Be proactive in your approach, problem-solving issues such as missing stock, load sequencing challenges, or truck priorities/constraints.
- Ensure safe and efficient loading practices, prevent damages and contribute to a safe working environment.
Skills and attributes: - Current, valid Forklift Licence and Driver’s License are essential.
- Proven experience driving forklifts and hand loading vehicles.
- Organised and efficient, with a good level of initiative to ensure your workload runs smoothly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Physically fit to undertake a frequent movement and lifting role.
- Clear communicator, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
- Numeral literacy and basic computer skills.
- ‘Safety-first’ approach.
