Contour Roofing & Aluminium Joinery is looking for a reliable, motivated and safety-focused Yard Person & Delivery Driver to join our Nelson team. This critical role supports the efficient running of our warehouse, yard, and delivery operations — ensuring products are handled, prepared, and dispatched accurately, and customer deliveries are completed safely and professionally.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accurately pick, pack and prepare customer orders for dispatch or pickup
• Load/unload trucks and store materials to prevent damage
• Provide friendly, professional service to customers and colleagues onsite
• Keep the yard, stores, and warehouse clean, safe, and organised
• Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory accuracy
• Operate forklifts and other handling equipment (with appropriate licence)
• Deliver products and materials to customer sites as assigned
• Carry out pre-start checks and ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness
• Represent Contour with professionalism during all deliveries

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, ATTRIBUTES:

• Experience in warehousing, yard, or delivery roles – construction or building products preferred
• Current forklift licence (or willing to train)
• Gantry crane license (or willing to train)
• Minimum Class 1 driver’s licence – towing experience required; Class 2 and Hiab preferred
• Physically fit, with strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Great time management skills and a team-first attitude
• Familiarity with roofing or building materials is a plus (full training provided)

• Yard and warehouse maintained to high safety and cleanliness standards
• Deliveries made safely, on schedule, and with a positive customer experience
• Stock levels managed accurately, supporting smooth operations across departments
