THE OPPORTUNITY We’re looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our friendly Supply Chain team at our Ormeau Head Office as a Purchasing Officer. This full-time, Monday to Friday role is a great opportunity to grow your skills and start a long-term career in procurement and supply chain. No formal experience in purchasing? That’s okay — if you're proactive, organised and keen to learn, we’ll teach you everything you need to know. RESPONSIBILITIES - Assisting and managing suppliers to ensure delivery of product is on time, quality of product meets standards and specifications, and product integrity is maintained through the delivery and storage processes.
- Timely and accurate review of product demand planning and stock levels to ensure purchase orders are placed within supplier lead times.
- Monitor inventory levels, analyse usage patterns, and forecast demand to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and pricing.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance for management review.
- Liaise with various departments to understand their purchasing needs, provide guidance on procurement processes, and ensure timely delivery of required goods and services.
- Involvement in continuous improvement projects and working with stakeholders at Stratco locations nationally.
- Collaborate with team members, other departments and projects as required.
- Strict adherence to our national critical safety rules & contributing to a safe working environment.
ABOUT YOU - An interest in procurement and purchasing.
- Good communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good problem-solving mindset, with the ability to question process and recommend ways to improve processes.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite, namely Excel
- Desirable - tertiary qualifications in Business/Commerce, Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning or other related discipline, would be advantageous
- Willingness to enhance the customer experience by working with enthusiasm, energy, and pace.
