As the Purchasing Officer, you will be part of the Purchasing Team responsible for co-ordinating and managing all raw materials, buy in and stocked products as well as ordering consumables for use across the business. The Purchasing Team is solution orientated and works closely with our suppliers and other departments to ensure our customer’s orders are delivered in full, on time and to specification. The role requires a person who is customer focused, efficient, well organised with good time management and people skills. As a part of the Purchasing Team, you will need to possess good negotiation skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and good computer skills. RESPONSIBILITIES - Obtain and process quotations and generate purchase orders
- Expedite outstanding orders with suppliers to ensure our customer orders are delivered complete and on time
- Monitor and maintain accuracy of inventory using various reports and regular cycle counts
- Review and administer supplier cost updates
- Participate in stocktakes and undertake general administration duties
- Other operational tasks are required
- Adhere to our critical safety rules & contribute to a safe working environment
ABOUT YOU - Willingness to enhance the customer experience by working with enthusiasm, energy, integrity and pace
- Demonstrated experience managing inventory with industry experience in Retail, FMCG and/or Manufacturing and experience in a multi-site manufacturing business is an advantage
- Qualifications or certifications in Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain desirable
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including a professional phone manner and strong computer skills are required
- Proven ability to provide solutions and think outside the box
- Well organised with good time management and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
